Maylee Bezates joins Kroger as merchant trainee

Maylee Bezates stacked experiences while studying marketing and product and merchandising management. She serve as a student ambassador for the NRF Foundation and the VP of publicity and marketing for ºÚÁÏÍø¹ÙÍø State’s NRFSA club. Additionally, Bezates secured an internship at Kohl’s and worked for OSU’s technology services. She is excited to start her career with Kroger.

College of Business: What are your plans after graduation?
Maylee Bezates: Starting a full-time job as an assistant merchant trainee at Kroger Corporate in Portland
COB: What’s your major and/or minor?
MB: Majoring in marketing, minoring in product and merchandising management
COB: What’s one thing you learned during your academic journey that made a big impact?
MB: Get involved! Do things outside of your classes. Everything from club meetings, to going out on the weekends!
COB: Was there a moment you realized you’d grown during your time at OSU?
MB: I realized I had grown in my time at OSU when I started to pick my friends, not based on convenience, but based on how they made me feel.
COB: Who or what helped you along the way?
MB: Brigitte Cluver!! She changed my experience at OSU and helped me learn about my dream career.
COB: Were you involved in any experiences you’d like to highlight?
MB: The Merchandising Club, and an internship at Kohl’s Corporate in Wisconsin! I also worked in the IT Center for three years.
COB: Anything else you’d like to share?
MB: Work hard! It does not go unnoticed. You will get opportunities to visit places (sometimes trips to other states) and can expand your knowledge so much!
