Elevate your degree

International business, digital marketing analytics, financial planning, sports business — those who follow business trends know that these are thriving careers both in and well beyond. And they are options of study for our College of Business students.

Options are areas for skills and knowledge focus with our majors. For example, international business or sports business are available to most business and design majors; the financial planning option is available to finance majors.

We developed program options — in close partnership with our industry advisors — in order to elevate certain technical skills and subject knowledge that these future employers need. Industry has long turned to the College of Business to create such program options that lead to the skilled, career-ready graduates they want to hire.

Explore our options

Options are exciting, career-focused, industry driven skill sets that are pursued by first applying for admission to one of the College of Business majors. So, for example to pursue digital marketing, first apply to its associated major: business administration, and begin working with your College of Business advisor to fit the digital marketing coursework into your schedule.

Talk with an advisor

Our advice is to talk with a College of Business academic advisor. They'll help evaluate your transcript and GPA to be sure that your grades and balance of credits at OSU align with general performance standards of a student in good standing.

Complete the minor declaration application form prior to this meeting — keeping in mind that approval process takes about two weeks. You may have also reviewed the prerequisites or perhaps consulted with your major advisor about how a business minor is attainable. Please explore the offerings, and get ready with your questions for that advising appointment.
