Overview

Prepare for careers targeted to the growing impact of "Big Data." The information security, assurance, and analytics area of focus allows you to gain specialized knowledge of information management or information systems auditing fields.

Information security, assurance, and analytics builds upon the business, accounting and computer classes required of all accounting students and prepares students specifically to apply information technologies to accounting, auditing and other business tasks.

This option includes the coursework from the accounting major.

The option in information security, assurance, and analytics is available to accounting majors in Corvallis.

We offer classes in the modalities that work for you and your schedule.

In-person: Corvallis

Attend classes in Austin Hall, the $50 million, 100,000-square-foot building with five research centers, a marketing research suite, 10 classrooms, 23 computer- and teleconference-equipped project rooms, a 250-seat auditorium, a café and faculty offices.

The Center of Business Analytics and Applied AI in the College of Business at serves as a platform connecting business organizations, professionals, students, and faculty to educate and to exchange ideas on gaining competitive advantages from data.

Working with its corporate sponsors, the Center of Business Analytics and Applied AI accomplishes its goals through corporate sponsored projects, community training, symposia, and sponsored faculty research, focusing on applying analytics technology such as data/text mining, data visualization/exploration, predictive modeling, and optimization to identify opportunities and to provide solutions.
