The Center for Family Enterprise conducts research that positively impacts the family business community through collaborations at ºÚÁÏÍø¹ÙÍø and beyond, and by convening researchers who want to help businesses thrive. Our goal is to help create positive cultures in family businesses by offering evidence-based, practical research they can use.
Research news
In 2005 Mark Green, former director of the Austin Family Business Program, co-founded the Family Enterprise Research Conference and hosted the inaugural conference in Portland, ºÚÁÏÍø¹ÙÍø.
Every year since, the conference has been hosted in cities across the country. In 2024 the conference returned to Portland for a gathering of international scholars.

Awards presented:
- Luis Gomez-Mejia, Arizona State University, received the FERC Lifetime Influence and Impact Award for providing sustained and distinguished leadership toward the growth and development of family businesses and/or family business research and scholars (sponsored by Trinity Real Estate).
- Management Innovation Adoption Process in Family SMEs: Exploration of the Microfoundations, presented by Ali Azouz, ESG-UQAM, Canada, won the Best Poster Award.
